The bags

Red Delicious bags are made to be practical, good-looking and durable with an all-important sense of fun. The bags are designed and made in Seattle, WA, with materials sourced from US companies as far as possible.

When you order a bag we custom make it to your specifications, so it usually takes a week or so before being mailed out.

Materials

The bags are made from canvas, or canvas and vinyl, while the linings are cotton. We use these materials because they are strong, durable and easy to care for, with the added advantage of being vegan.

The adjustable straps are polypro webbing, which is very strong and comfortable to carry. We use the best quality nickel hardware, magnetic snaps and zips.

Care

We recommend that you treat the canvas with a stain-protectant (easily found at drugstores). You can spot clean with a wet wipe or hand wash the canvas. Use very cool water and a gentle detergent. Hang to dry. Iron if needed. Vinyl can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Take care not to iron vinyl, it'll melt!

The designer

Once upon a time there was a little girl who learned to sew a little... not realizing that many years later she would use this old-school skill to create bags for a living.

I'm Emma Roscoe, and I started Red Delicious in 2003 to create bags which combine good looks with usability and durability, a combination I'd found lacking while shopping for a new bag for myself.

Always an artist and maker-of-things, I was completely hooked by playing with fabric and design. And I can sew very straight seams!

Why Red Delicious? Well Delicious describes the bags, and Red is my favorite color.
